About

LINDSEY THOMSON-LEVIN, MA, AMFT

The most important part of therapy is the relationship

I invite you to get to know me. I think you’ll find me warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental. I work with openness, curiosity, collaboration, and humor. There is healing power in a good laugh!

One of my highest values is to help people feel less alone. I believe we are all seeking a sense of belonging — to be deeply known to ourselves and others. I welcome all parts of you, and I hope you will feel seen and valued in our work together.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from The University of Chicago and a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University. For over a decade I enjoyed a wide-ranging career in the nonprofit sector, putting into action my belief that a better world is possible.

A formative part of my clinical training has been my years of experience with Pathways Home Health & Hospice, where I have provided therapy to patients and their loved ones throughout the process of death and grieving. Through Pathways I also regularly serve those reeling from sudden and traumatic losses. This work has deepened my ability to provide trauma-sensitive care and to help clients face some of life’s most devastating and transformative seasons.

In my practice, I welcome and affirm all people, bodies, identities, and abilities. I am committed to cultural humility, to questioning and unlearning my biases, and to the continuous work of expanding my understanding.

“Lindsey is a super compassionate listener and gives me feedback so I can understand myself better. She hears me, and now I can ask for what I need with people in my life.”
